Pailton Neighbourhood Watch
The purpose of the Neighbourhood Watch is to keep an eye out for our
neighbours and to receive and send information about actual criminal
activity or suspicious activity that might lead to a crime.
Crime prevention is always better than the cure and there are a number
of things we can all do to avoid being the victim of a crime or at least
making it difficult for those with criminal intent:
- Always lock doors and windows to your home,
garage and shed.
- Never leave valuables e.g. handbags,
wallets, keys, on view. Take them to bed with you!
- Always lock your car when it is
unattended. If your car is on the drive or in the road, do not leave
anything valuable in sight.
- Remove the key from your door and do
not leave it near the door on view [remember the cat flap burglaries!].
- Fit a door chain and always use it.
- Mark your valuable property with
SMARTWATER or with your post code and house number using a UV pen. [ask for
information]
- Cancel papers and milk when you are
away and let your friend/neighbour know and when you will return. [ask about
Royal Mail “Keep Safe”]
- Always check the ID of callers
before you allow them into your home – make sure you know who is coming into
your home
- Get to know your Neighbourhood Watch
contact. He or she will live very close to you and will have helpful
information for you.
- If you wish to report anything, call
the Rugby Police Station on 01788 541111 [if it’s an emergency dial: 999] or
contact the person above. Don’t wait for someone else to report
it.
- Make a note of your Neigbourhood
