Candlemass at St. Edith's

On Sunday 29th January churchgoers from Pailton joined with many others from throughout the extended Revel Group to attend a special Candlemass service at our mother church of St. Edith’s Monks Kirby.

The service was conducted by the Reverend Christine Garrod, assisted by Reader George Lee and the Reverend Beth Smith. A special welcome was given to Beth, recently retired from her previous benefice on the western side of Rugby, now serving as an assistant in the Revel Group. This greeting was coupled with a fond farewell and presentation of gifts to the Reverend Clive Harper and his wife in appreciation of their long and happy years in the Churchover community.

Post Office Burglary

The New Year has experienced an unwelcome misfortune in the form of a burglary at the village post office at 4.15 am on Thursday 19th January. Although suffering only a minor loss our hardworking shop owners deserve every sympathy for the stress and damage caused by this wanton act.

Traffic

Some residents have expressed unease over the escalating level of traffic passing through our village as a consequence of major developments in the adjoining county.
