Minutes from the Village Hall Trust Committee held on 8th October 2007

Minutes from the last meeting read and agreed.
Working Party – The red paint used in the village hall is no longer available so it was decided to paint the strip along the front of the stage matt black, so that it blends in when the stage is eventually painted.
Playing Field Inspection Report – Joanna has written to both Rugby Council and Wickstead but as yet has still not had a reply.
As Buddy was not present, this item will be carried forward to the next meeting. Helen will check the fire doors before the next Live and Local event.
Julie and Helen will paint the strip in front of the stage on Tuesday 16th October at 2.30pm.

Leaflet drop and pan for hot dogs – Maria
Drinks and Float – Tony
Door – Helen
Bar – Lesley, Patricia/Mark and Mike
Raffle – Joanna
Food – Helen
Set up 9.00am on Saturday – Helen, Julie, Lesley Maria and Patricia
Mike Allen has agreed to hold a “War Time Music Hall” evening. Looking at February/March time- date to be confirmed at next meeting.
Patricia and Lesley are looking at a quartet/barbershop evening in May.
The committee thought that a disco should be the last event of season.
A race night was also mentioned. Buddy to be approached about organising this.
Three cheques plus £20 for a party were handed to Helen to pass onto Tony.
Since the last meeting only one party had been booked.
Councillor Lenton handed the Parish Council chairperson a list of items that were wrong in the playing field. These included a bolt on the floor, graffiti on one of the slopes, the chains on the swings now being to low since the safety surface went in and a bottle of alcohol. Julie volunteered to inspect these complaints and report back to the committee.
A suggestion for the Parish Council was that the area under the ‘bus stop’ should be grassed, making it easier to mow.
Helen has obtained the event licence for Live and Local.
