Present: Debbie, Clive,
Joanna, Clair, Kara, Gill, Carrole and Helen
Apologies: Gary
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and agreed.
Clair welcomed Kara, Gill
and Clive to the committee.
Live and Local Clair to obtain the dates of the Live and Local
events from Tony and pass them to Carrole, who will then arrange the licences.
Village Hall Joanna is filling out the application form for the
Community Development Fund, £5,000 is available, quotes are required. Clair has now received a quote for the
windows from Mick Truckey. Clair to
check if this includes vandal resistant glass. Clair reported that out of the
six builders she has asked for quotes for the whole works, one replied, they
were not interested and she has heard nothing from the others. A builder is due to quote for replacing the
keystones shortly. If this quote is
reasonable, Clair will proceed with this as a matter of urgency.
Joanna informed the
committee about a grant that could give us up to £50,000. She said that the trust must fund 11% of the
grant and that we needed a third party.
It was decided that we would apply for the WREN grant and that Dick Moss
be approached as the possible third party.
Playing Field Clair has a quote for the fence between the
playing field and Mr Baileys field, £375 + VAT, she reported that it can be
erected before the fete. Clair has
spoken to Mr Bailey and he is happy with the proposed 1.2 metre fence. Clair to speak to Gary about placing the
order with Mancraft.
Phil Truelove and Andy have
being strimming the grass, and it should soon be short enough for the ride on
mower to cut. Clair to speak Mr Turton
about cutting the field. Carrole will
speak to Mr Stevenson about exactly where the mower is kept and how to access
it.
One of the playground tyres
needs to be replaced and the bark under the slide needs to raked on a regular
basis. Clive volunteered to rake the
bark and keep an eye on the equipment.
Joanna is to visit the playing field with Clive and point out the
remarks in the inspection report. Clive
will report back to the committee each month.
Parish Council Helen will report back to the Parish Council each
month. With this in mind the Village
Trust Committee decided to meet the 1st Monday of each month so that
the minutes can be presented the following week.
Grants and Donations There are grants available from the Lottery, WREN
and the Rural Development fund. All but the WREN grant will provide £5,000,
WREN will provide up to £50,000. The
committee decided to apply for all the grants available to enable the committee
to carry out the necessary work to the Village Hall. Joanna volunteered to take the lead on this.
Licences and Legislation Carrole reported that the only licences required
at present were those for the Live and Local events. As soon as these dates are known Carrole will make the necessary
applications. All other licences are up
to date.
AGM The comments made at the AGM about the stray dogs
and bin fires will be raised at the next Parish Council meeting by Helen.
A.O.B. The toilet in the Village Hall is now fixed. Tom has agreed to check the central heating
during the summer.
Date of next meeting Monday, July 5th, 2004 at 1 Post House
Gardens.
