Minutes of Pailton Village Hall Trust held on 7th March 2005
Present: Kara, Clair, Chris, Joanna, Carrole, Maria and Helen
Apologies: Tony
Minutes of last meeting read and agreed.
Notice of the AGM appeared in the March edition of Round the Revel. Kara has designed the posters and will place them on the hall notice board when it has been painted.
Joanna reported that Matthew Cox from WREN may attend the AGM.
A new fridge will be purchased on completion of the internal works.
Fred the builder to be invited to the opening party.
Tony to present figures at the next meeting, but in the interim, Chris stated that the last event had made a profit.
Chris stated that Tony did not wish to continue organising these events. The village will be asked at the AGM if anyone would like to take over this role.
Joanna reported that she was now receipt of the contract from WREN and that as a result the work has started on the interior of the hall and should be complete by the end of this week. If the weather is fine the following week the work on installing the ramp and levelling the path should commence.
Fred to be asked to decorate the men’s toilet.
The baby changing unit will now cost £300 instead of the original cost of £150.
Carrole to chase up the installation of plastic window sheeting. Carrole also reported that the pump on the central heating boiler was broken, she will get this repaired as soon as possible.
Helen to ask the Parish Council about delivery of the bushes offered for the playing fields.
Concerns were raised that since Clive’s departure from the village no one has taken over the role of regularly inspecting the playing field. This issue to be raised at the AGM to see if anyone from the village was able to take on this role.
This year’s Village Fête will be held on Sunday 3rd July.
Joanne stated that we had until August 27th, 2005 to complete the stone and brick works, submit the paperwork and receipts to the Lottery. The committee thanked Joanna for all her hard work in obtaining the funding from both WREN and the Lottery. It was reported that the committee had thanked both organisations for their support, in the local paper and Round the Revel on a number of occasions and would do so again once the work is completed and at the AGM.
Carrole will apply for 4 licences to cover the Live and Local acts for next autumn/winter season. Anyone who wishes to hire the hall and serve alcohol must obtain their own licence from the Council at a cost of £20.
Carrole reported that she had been approached by other villages who wanted to start up a Mums and Toddlers group. The idea being that each village holds a Mums and Toddlers session one morning a week. Carrole also reported that she has had a good response from the village so far. Carrole will report back to the next meeting on developments.
Chris to check with Andrew Simpson about the new curtain rails.
To be held on Monday 4th April either in the Village Hall (if all works completed) or at Joanna’s.
