Pailton Village Hall Trust held on Monday 4th April 2005
Present: Clair, Joanna, Gill and

Apologies: Carrole, Kara, Maria and
Gary
Parish Plan
Alan Parfrey and Richard Latham
attended the meeting to inform the trust about the Parish Plan and to ask for their help
in distributing and collecting the questionnaires. This was agreed by the members present.
Refurbishment
All the work related to the WREN and
Lottery grants has now been completed.
Helen to check with Chris and Tony
about the new curtains rails for the hall.
Clair to check with Carrole about the
progress of the window coverings and the central heating boiler.
A discussion took place about whether
a security camera should be fitted to the Village Hall with a link to a computer within
the hall to help combat vandalism. This to be
raised at the next meeting.
Gill stated that she was concerned
that some young people in the village had started to use to ramp at the front of the hall
as a skateboarding ramp. It was decided to
erect a sign stating that no skateboarding was allowed.
Helen will mention this at the next Parish Council meeting to see if the Community
Wardens could be made aware of the problem and advise the young people of the dangers to
themselves, passing pedestrians and vehicles.
AOB
Clair announced that she had applied
for a new job. If she is successful she will
have to stand down as chair but would be happy to take on the Live and Local events.
Joanna mentioned that the trees next
to the village hall were now touching the walls of the hall and she was concerned about
damp. Gill said she would mention this to the
owners of trees to see if they could be pruned back.
Gill also announced the death of
Clive Barker. Clive played a very active role
in the trust, looking after the playing the field, regularly inspecting and helping
maintain the equipment. He has been sadly
missed since he moved from the village at the end September last year. The committee send their condolences to his family. Helen to write a piece for the Round the Revel
magazine.
Date of next meeting: Wednesday 4th
May at 8pm at Clairs house to discuss the AGM.
