Present: Clair, Gill, Joanna, Damon and Helen
Minutes of the last meeting read and agreed.
Fire extinguishers were inspected December 2005, no issues were reported.
Due to work being undertaken in their Village Hall, the playgroup has asked if they could use Pailton Village Hall from now until the summer. This was agreed, they will use the hall on Wednesday mornings to start with and hope to add Friday mornings at a later date.
Helen to speak to Sharon in shop regarding arrangements for key pick up.
Two builders have inspected the floor. It is hard for them to quote accurately for the work, as it will depend on what they find when they start to lift the floor. One of the builders can start this week, so on Health and Safety grounds it was decided that they should start as soon as possible.
Clair reported that due to the Live and Local organisation being short of subsidies, we are unable to host a third event this season.
The group were unanimous that an event should be organised before the summer. Clair has asked a work colleague who is a cruise ship DJ if he would be willing to play at a family night in the hall. This he is willing do if the proceeds go to charity, unfortuately he is unable to play Friday and Saturday nights. It was suggested that this evening could be held during the Easter holidays. Clair to speak to her work colleague again.
We have received a cheque from the Karate Club.
It was reported that we have received several bookings for the Hall. There are two bookings in February and a Christening in May.
The hall has also been booked for the distribution of bus pass concessions on Monday 6th March from 2.00pm to 2.45pm.
An over 60s club is starting on Thursday 2nd March.
On February 13th at 7pm Warwickshire Police will be holding a public meeting to discuss crime prevention and policing issues.
The location of the goal posts was discussed at length. It was decided that the only possible place for them was in the same place as the original posts. Helen to speak to Tony about erection of the posts.
The hawthorn bushes have now arrived, these will planted on the same day that the posts are erected. They will be planted in a way that helps to thicken the present hedging in an attempt to stop children from trespassing into the neighbouring gardens.
Gill and Joanna have now received two plans showing different playground equipment. It is hoped that if we are successful in obtaining grants, we will be able to purchase a large piece of equipment.
Joanna reported that she is about to send off the first of three grant applications forms.
There were no problems in obtaining the licence for Caliche. Clair will obtain the licence for the family night if it goes ahead.
Clair informed the committee that she would be resigning at the AGM in May.
Date of next meeting: February 27th, 2006.
