Present: Tony, Maria, Gill, Joanna and Patricia
Apologies: Helen, Julie
Minutes of the last meeting: read and agreed
Matters arising - there will be no inspection by Rugby Borough Council; Pailton
Parish Council will do this instead in September
No further news. Maria to look in the comments box.
The event was cancelled. Regrettably it did clash with a football match on V.. However, it seems that the young people of Pailton are not interested in this kind of event (nor the Youth Group) – despite the feedback from the Parish Plan
Maria has obtained free bales of hay. Maria will put and advert in the Round the Revel and provide posters for the Easter weekend. Fliers would be available at the Daffodil Sunday event. Practical arrangements will be discussed at the next meeting.
Helen attended a recent meeting and has reported back that we may not even get one event. A nomination proforma is to be circulated amongst all committee members for them to state their preferences for the one event. To be returned to Helen by 11 May.
The application for funding from E-on was unsuccessful. Julie had provided an obtained three quotations for the slabbing and one more was awaited. It was agreed to wait for this last quotation and then to proceed as quickly as possible. It was decided that the profits from the barn dance would go towards the cost of improving the rear of the hall. Gill and Julia to inform parents at the Pailton Toddler group and to encourage ticket sales. The toddler group have confirmed they have public liability insurance in place.
Tony will be completing the accounts over Easter. After the AGM, it was agreed that the committee would need to review expenditure and have a period of consolidation. Gill agreed to resolve the outstanding issue of missing income from Rugby Borough Council (EDP event).
2 bookings, both from Gill. Helen to confirm requirements of alcohol licence and if necessary, Gill to keep records alongside bookings.
Complaints still being received about the heating on Friday mornings. Tony to look at the timer.
Joanna reported tat Big Foot has gone bankrupt. She has obtained quotes for grass matting and wetpour. It was agreed that wetpour was the preferred option and that Joanne would get one more quote from Wickstead. Joanne would be submitting an application to WREN by 20 July (funding to be available in October). Joanne would also apply for Community Development Fund grants.
The roundabout is broken. Joanne needs to confirm the advice regarding the position of the roundabout in relation to the hedge. Tony to mend the roundabout/make it safe ASAP.
