Minutes of the last meeting read and agreed
The play group have asked if it is possible to have the floor swept before their sessions on Wednesdays. Helen to obtain the cleaner’s contact details from Clair.
The floor has now been repaired at a cost of £1630. The problem was caused by a collapsed support wall.
Helen will contact Clair to see if she has managed to book the DJ for this event. If not it, may be possible to organise a Barn Dance.
Tony reported that he had received the gas bill of £385
for the last quarter.
Helen handed Tony 5 cheques which had come from bookings of the Village Hall.Helen
reported that we had received a form from Rugby Borough Council asking to
hire the Hall for the election in May. It was decided that they should pay
the Village rate for this use (£104 in total).
Gill and Joanna reported that they had now received quotes from other companies supplying playing field equipment.
It was reported that the Village Hall Trust had received a complaint from one of the playing field neighbours about re-erecting the goal post. A lengthy discussion took place about the implications of putting up the post and it was decided to take this back to the Parish Council for their advice before making a decision.
Joanna updated the committee on the progress of applying for the various grants.
Helen to seek advice from Clair on how to apply for an alcohol licence.
Helen informed the committee that she had received Clair’s letter of resignation. The committee thanked Clair for all her hard work and expertise.
Helen to ask Stuart if he is willing to organise this year’s fête.
It was reported that there will be an open gardens event again this year. It was suggested that to make this a more interesting event for the children, that each garden should contain a cartoon character and that maybe a small prize could be given to the children who note down all the characters. Joanna to take this idea back to the gardens organising committee.
