Matters Arising – Action points from last meeting.
The Parish Council have received a letter asking if we wish to have our playing field equipment inspected. The clerk to the Parish Council will reply that we do wish this inspection to go ahead.
Insurance cover for new playing field equipment – As Tony was not present this action point will be carried over to the next meeting.
Helen will carry out the fire audit before the Live and Local event on Friday. She has also organised for the fire extinguishers to be inspected.
Helen reported that Tony Gillias has fixed the heating system and she will organise someone to reset the timer.
The tickets for this week’s Live and Local event (Daniel Smith) have nearly all gone.
Zoe has produced a poster for the Old Time Music Hall. Amendments were suggested and Helen will pass these on to Zoe. Julie to be asked if she is prepared to design the tickets for the event.
It was reported that a Barn Dance could be arranged for Friday, May 11th 2007 at a cost of £70. It was agreed to go ahead with this.
The leaflet about a youth club was distributed to houses in the village along with the Live and Local leaflet. No further updates available.
The playgroup reported that they now had £900 to spend on the patio, thanks to a donation of £500 from Rugby Co-Op.
Helen reported that she had handed Tony two cheques from hall bookings and a donation of £500 from Pailton Parish Council.
Helen reported that the Parish Council had requested that the Village Hall Trust Committee hold some money back until the area around the new play equipment had been fully rectified. Gill said that she had been to inspect the area and had noticed that the monkey bars were scratched and bent. Wickstead have promised to replace them as soon as possible, therefore it was decided to withhold the remaining money until this has been done.
The committee decided to order the replacement parts for the Hags play equipment, this will cost approximately £250.
Gill has now received quotes for the safety surface for underneath the swings and for the patio area. The swing area will cost £2990 and the patio area £2600 plus VAT. As the committee will have to apply for grants to be able to carry out this work, it was decided that as a short term measure it would purchase a ton of play bark to place under the swings at a cost of £100.
Joanna was pleased to announce that the committee had now received their Highly Commended Award certificate.
