Minutes of the last meeting were read and agreed.
There will be a working party at the Village Hall on Saturday 22nd July. Gill will prepare a rota for the day. Anyone wishing to help re-lay the slabs at the rear of the hall please give your name to Gill on 833460. Maria to be asked about a gate for the top of the steps.
The cleaner has started and already a compliment about the state of the hall has been received. The comments book is in place and an agreement with Sharon in the shop is in place to replenish any materials that run out.
Helen to ask the Parish Plan committee about the age ranges of children in the village. This should help with the decision about a youth club being run in the hall.
Due to Maria being absent, there was no update available. The committee decided to re advertise the hall in September’s Round Revel along with the committee’s details.
The playing field was recently cut, but due to the weather is still growing very fast and will need another cut before the fête. Helen to check with the Parish Council how many times the playing field will be cut during the year. If this is not many, then the trust will have to look for a volunteer, or will have to raise money to pay for the extra cuts.
Joanna informed the meeting that a representative from Ventures would be visiting the hall on 24th July to look at what has been achieved and to look at our plans for the future.
Helen has received some information from an organisation call NCVO. This is an organisation that provides help to small voluntary and community groups. The cost per year is £43. It was decided not to join this organisation.
Stair Gate –- Julie informed the committee that her husband would install the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs inside hall.
Key Holders – Helen to provide Sharon with a list of key holders.
Hanging baskets – Gill has spoken to Tony Gillias about installing a water irrigation system to the front of the hall. Tony reported that it would cost in the region of £100 and that he would be willing to install it.
Curtain Rail – Helen will purchase a curtain rail for over the emergency door in time for the working party on 22nd July.
Ceiling – A discussion took place about the sagging ceiling. Gill to seek expert advice about the bats in the roof and Helen to ask the Parish Council if they now if the ceiling is a false one.
