Minutes of the last meeting read and agreed
The playgroup have booked the Village Hall for Wednesday & Friday mornings until the summer.
Stuart LeCornu has agreed to organise the fete on the 2nd of July, 2006. The next fete preparation meeting is at the Ex Servicemen’s Club at 8:00pm on the 24th of May.
The committee has received two complaints about the cleanliness of the Village Hall. Gill will speak to her cleaner to see if she is interested. If not, an advert will be placed in Round the Revel.
Tony reviewed finances with committee and reported that year on year costs had gone up by 30%. Principal rises came from the cost of gas and electricity. As a result price rises will be proposed at the AGM, viz., existing hall rental charges will be raised from £4 to £5 per hour for regular weekly users. The price rise will be proposed to take effect from September 1st, 2006.
The committee are in the process of selecting acts for autumn and winter shows. It was agreed that prices should rise as follows: Adults, £7.50; Concessions, £6.00; Children under 16, £4.00.
Helen to confirm grass cutting programme with the Parish Council. Goal Post: a working party has been organised to install the new goal post on May 6th, at 10:00am. Gill to source “playbark” for the area under the swings. Tony to check on the conditions of the playing field insurance for the fete.
It was reported that there may be six possible villagers who may be interested in becoming committee members.
Joanna reported that she has obtained two grants for new playing field equipment, one for £5,000 and one of £7,000, totalling £12,000.
Helen has submitted an application for a lotteries licence at the cost of £35.
Pailton Open Gardens (Sunday June 18th), 2006), there is to be a meeting for anyone who wishes to open their garden or help on May 9th, at 7:30pm in the Village Hall.
